Skinceuticals Daily Moisturizer has an impressive website seemingly geared to the customer who is more interested in what is on the label rather than how the label looks. We liked that ingredients are based on clinical studies, however, upon trying to find a link to third-party clinical studies, we were instead diverted to a page about the guidelines which Skinceuticals use for its own testing. Furthermore, there is no mention of what these clinical studies actually are! Upon digging further, we realized that this company is owned by Loreal which makes us wonder if this is simply a drugstore moisturizer marketed to a different audience. To find out the truth, we uncovered what is truly inside this cream.

Skinceuticals Daily Moisturizer contains 2 active ingredients. They are:
- Algae extracts - Certain algae extracts are used as emollients and soothing agents for the skin.

How To Use
According to the Skinceuticals websites, you should apply a generous amount of its Daily Moisturizer to the entire face, neck and chest, once or twice per day. For morning use, apply before sunscreen, for nighttime use, apply after using retinol (if applicable).

After thoroughly searching the Skinceuticals website, we were unable to find any mention of a guarantee for this moisturizing cream.
Conclusion
After reading the Skinceuticals website in-depth, we have come to the conclusion that while this product may be a good moisturizer, the website feels like nothing more than a marketing ploy. Each time users clicks on a “learn more” tab, they are directed to a different page where they have to click on yet another button. Upon further digging, it is clear that Skinceuticals is owned by Loreal. The fact that this is not transparent on its website, but rather hidden from customers, suggests that the company is trying to market its products in a different way in order to appeal to a different type of consumer than it usually attracts. This coupled with the facts that there are no patented ingredients, no percentage of active ingredients stated or any mention of a guarantee, gives us pause when it comes to wholeheartedly recommending this product.
